Luxury Hotels in Hong Kong – Picking The Right Hotel!
Hong Kong is filled with many sights, attractions, restaurants, entertainment and luxurious hotels. To decide the right hotel here, you can choose which area you want to stay in, whether it be a large, glamorous city or more peaceful scenic areas.
The northern area of Hong Kong Island is where the city’s banking, commercial districts are located. There are many Hong Kong luxury hotels hotels here, like the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Langham Place Hotel Mongkok, and many others. This is where all the popular shopping areas are located, with high-class areas like Causeway Bay, Central, and Hollywood Road. Some of Hong Kong’s most vibrant night life areas are also located here. Perhaps one of the most famous attractions is Victoria Peak, a hill which gives you a spectacular view of the city. Other attractions include museums, food, and the Star Ferry.
Kowloon is also a city area, just nearby from Hong Kong Island by the South China Sea. Kowloon, also has a mix of modern malls and skyscrapers, with a dash of traditional life with street vendors and markets. The very popular Nathan Road is filled with the city’s skyscrapers, shopping centres, hotels and lights. Kowloon has some amazing posh hotels as well, like the InterContinental Hong Kong, Langham Hotel Hong Kong and many more. The city gives you some spectacular views of Hong Kong Island’s skyline, and is perhaps the best area to watch the dazzling Symphony of Lights, which is a daily light and laser show.
The New Territories is not as upscale as Hong Kong Island or Kowloon, but has a very lovely countryside, villages and farms, towns and industrial developments. Staying within this area would be for travelers who appreciate gorgeous scenery and want a quieter holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are a few luxury hotels spread around The New Territories, such as Hyatt Regency Sha Tin Hong Kong, L’hotel Nina et Convention Centre, and others. Travellers can go hiking in the Sai Kung area, or simply take in some relaxing sights.
For quiet areas with more alternatives of activities and sights, there are The Outlying Islands, which are the islands near the territory. The most popular one is Lantau Island, which is a great getaway from the hectic city life. Lantau Island has some very luxurious hotels like the Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel. The islands offer you some beautiful beaches, monasteries, traditional fishing villages, and a scenic open countryside. From Lantau you can take a cable car ride to the Ngong Ping village and big Buddha statue, or book a ferry to the other islands.
